Harmonic’s bet on speed and oversight

Harmonic Security is pitching companies on a difficult balance: let employees use AI tools while giving security teams more visibility into that use. On October 14, the company announced a $50 million Series B led by Crosspoint Capital Partners, with existing investors also participating. The oversubscribed round brings Harmonic’s total funding to $76 million.

Crosspoint’s managing director, Zach Sivertson, framed the investment around that tradeoff. “As organizations embrace AI, they shouldn't have to choose between moving quickly and maintaining control,” he said, adding that Harmonic gives leaders visibility to expand adoption while employees use productivity tools with safeguards in place. The announcement did not disclose the names of the existing investors or the round’s valuation.

More than 100 companies, millions of employees

Harmonic says its platform supports AI use for millions of employees at more than 100 companies, including some of the world’s largest enterprises. The company has grown to more than 90 employees across the United States and the United Kingdom. It plans to use the new capital to add engineering and go-to-market capacity on both sides of the Atlantic.

The company also named Climb and Distology as new distribution partners. Those agreements extend its sales reach through technology distributors as it pursues enterprise customers. Harmonic did not provide revenue, customer-retention figures or a breakdown of how the new funding will be divided among hiring and other expenses.

New links to Cisco and Anthropic tools

The funding announcement also points to integrations with systems enterprises already use. Harmonic is listed among the ecosystem integrations for Cisco Cloud Control’s Agent Builder, with the connection running through the Model Context Protocol. Cisco announced Agent Builder at Cisco Live.

A separate integration connects Harmonic with Anthropic’s Claude Compliance API. It gives security teams access to activity logs from Claude Platform deployments; customers using Claude Enterprise can also make conversation content available across Anthropic-hosted deployments. The release does not specify the terms of either integration or how many customers have adopted them.

Usage data is part of the product pitch

Harmonic says the same system powers its Usage Intelligence layer, which is designed to show leaders which AI use cases are creating value and where employees have found faster ways to work. That positions the product as a source of operational insight as well as a security control. The announcement describes the intended use of the data but offers no independent results measuring the feature’s effect on productivity or risk.

The new round gives Harmonic more money to expand its team and distribution while it builds integrations around enterprise AI services. Its stated footprint—more than 100 companies and millions of employees—sets the scale of that effort; the company has not named those customers in the announcement.
