Experian Brings Credit Data Directly Into Google Gemini

Millions of U.S. consumers can now bring their Experian credit information into Google Gemini, turning a conversational AI session into a gateway to personalized credit data. Experian announced on September 23, 2026, that it is the first personal finance app integrated with Gemini’s Connected Apps ecosystem.

The collaboration lets existing Experian members authorize access to their accounts through Gemini. People who discover Experian through Gemini can also join at no cost, then ask questions about their FICO credit rating and the factors influencing it.

Experian said the integration gives consumers another way to engage with its services while extending its reach into Google’s AI assistant. Google separately listed Experian among a new group of Connected Apps rolling out to Gemini users, alongside services for apartment searches, workouts and event tickets.

Gemini becomes a new entry point for Experian

Jeff Softley, CEO of Experian North America, said the agreement responds to consumers’ expectation that services should be available across the digital products they already use.

“By bringing consumer-permissioned Experian credit insights into Gemini, we can help consumers better understand their credit and put their own information to work for them.”

The integration is designed to keep the account connection under the user’s control. In Gemini, users sign in with a Google account, open the Personal Intelligence menu, choose Connected Apps, select Experian and authorize access. They can also type “@Experian” in a chat when asking a credit-related question.

What users can ask about their credit

After authentication, users can ask Gemini for their Experian credit rating and for explanations of the factors affecting their credit profile. Experian describes the experience as a way to turn static credit information into answers that are easier to understand through a conversational interface.

The company does not say that Gemini replaces its existing account experience. People who want to view their FICO Score 8 will continue to access it through the Experian website or app, where additional financial products and services are available.

Experian’s disclosure says that a lender or insurer may use a different FICO score or another credit-scoring model altogether.

Google’s Connected Apps push reaches personal finance

Google’s announcement says the new Connected Apps are beginning to roll out on September 23. The company presents the feature as a way to use outside services inside Gemini instead of switching between separate applications.

Experian’s inclusion gives Google’s assistant access to one of the most sensitive categories of consumer information: personal credit data. The companies say the connection is authorized by the consumer, and Google’s Personal Intelligence settings allow users to manage connected-app access.

Subscription cancellation is next on the companies’ list

The initial integration centers on credit ratings and the reasons behind them, but Experian and Google say they plan to add more capabilities. Experian identifies subscription cancellation as one possible future feature, potentially allowing users to find and cancel unwanted recurring services through Gemini.

That planned expansion would move the integration beyond credit education and toward financial actions carried out through a conversational assistant. For now, the September 23 launch is limited to connecting Experian accounts, retrieving credit information and discussing the factors that shape a user’s profile.
