Podium was founded in 2014 in Lehi, Utah by Eric Rea and Dennis Steele, initially under the name RepDrive, to help small businesses generate more online reviews. It grew into a broader local-business platform combining review generation, two-way texting, webchat, payments, and marketing campaigns, and by 2021 had raised a $201 million Series D at a $3 billion valuation from investors including Accel, Summit Partners, and Google Ventures. The company reports roughly 90,000 business customers, largely in auto dealerships, home services, and healthcare and aesthetics, and around $220 million in annual revenue as of 2024. Its more recent product push is Podium AI Employee, a set of AI agents that answer inbound calls and texts, qualify leads, and book appointments around the clock, alongside continued investment in its original review-generation product. Podium is headquartered in Lehi, Utah, employs more than 1,000 people, and remains led by co-founder and CEO Eric Rea.
