LinearB was founded in 2018 by CEO Ori Keren and COO Dan Lines, two engineering leaders who wanted a way to surface bottlenecks in software delivery without relying on gut feel or manager anecdotes. The company is based in Los Angeles with a second office in Tel Aviv, and raised a $50 million Series B in May 2022 led by Tribe Capital, with Salesforce Ventures joining existing investors Battery Ventures and 83North; that round brought total funding to roughly $71 million, following a $16.1 million Series A in 2021. The core product tracks DORA metrics, deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, mean time to restore, and cycle-time breakdowns pulled from Git and Jira history, giving engineering leaders visibility into where pull requests stall between coding, review, and merge. LinearB also maintains gitStream, an open-source, YAML-configured automation engine that auto-assigns reviewers, labels PRs by risk, and enforces merge policies, which it has extended with AI-based code review.
