Eightfold AI builds a talent intelligence platform that helps large employers source, screen, and redeploy talent using skills as the common currency instead of job titles or keyword matches. Founded in 2016 by Ashutosh Garg and Varun Kacholia, former Google engineers who worked on ranking and recommendation systems, the company applies that background to a 'career profile' model trained on public and enterprise hiring data spanning more than a billion professional histories. The platform spans the employee lifecycle: Talent Acquisition ranks external candidates against open requisitions, Talent Management identifies internal employees who could move into new roles before a company defaults to external hiring, and newer 'Talent Agents' such as an AI Interviewer run structured screening conversations at scale. Large retailers, healthcare systems, and technology firms use Eightfold to cut time-to-fill and surface internal mobility candidates recruiters would otherwise miss. Eightfold has raised more than $400 million from investors including SoftBank Vision Fund and General Catalyst, reaching unicorn status, and competes with Workday and SAP SuccessFactors modules as well as newer entrants like Paradox and SeekOut in enterprise talent acquisition deals.
