Aftershoot was founded in 2020 by Harshit Dwivedi, Aayushman Choudhary, and Justin Benson to solve a problem every wedding and portrait photographer knows: thousands of RAW files sitting on a card after a shoot, with no fast way to pick the keepers. The company started with an AI culling tool that flags blur, blinks, and duplicate frames, then expanded into editing and retouching modules so photographers can move from import to delivery-ready gallery inside one app. The company has raised $16.1M across several rounds, including a 2024 Series A led by Headline, with backing from Techstars and Info Edge Ventures. Aftershoot is incorporated in Lewes, Delaware, with a distributed team and engineering leadership based in New Delhi. By its own published figures, more than 248,000 photographers have used the software to process over 8.8 billion images. Aftershoot sells its culling, editing, and retouching tools as separate subscription tiers that can be combined into a bundle, and processing runs locally on the photographer's machine rather than uploading client photos to a server.
