Verda says demand for AI compute is outpacing supply. The Helsinki-based company is responding with $189 million/€163 million in new funding, an expansion plan spanning Europe, the United States and Asia, and a plan to multiply its compute capacity over the next year.

The oversubscribed Series B is led by Emergence Capital, with participation from MUFG Innovation Partners, Supermicro, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Lifeline Ventures, ENDUR, 6 Degrees Capital (6DC), byFounders, Tesi and a group of angel investors including Ola Tørudbakken and Mark Saroufim. Verda announced the financing on September 22, 2026, saying it had become Europe’s latest unicorn.

The new funding will accelerate product development across all layers of Verda’s AI cloud, from compute capacity to platform services for frontier AI teams. The company says it will invest in areas including inference and plans to multiply its compute capacity over the next year.

Verda’s capacity bet meets a widening supply gap

Joe Floyd, General Partner at Emergence Capital, framed the investment around the shortage shaping the market for AI infrastructure.

“Demand for AI compute is insatiable, and the gap between demand and supply is growing,” said Joe Floyd, General Partner at Emergence Capital. “Verda is moving quickly to secure and scale capacity, with the technology, ambition, and momentum to become a defining AI infrastructure company.”

Verda’s model spans physical data centers and hardware as well as the cloud platform and AI research. The company describes itself as a full-stack AI cloud provider building compute that is instant, on-demand and available at scale.

The financing gives Verda capital to accelerate development across that business. Its stated priorities include additional compute capacity, platform services and inference for teams developing and operating advanced AI systems.

A $165 million revenue run rate before the new round

Verda says it reached a $165 million annualized revenue run rate in July 2026. It operates from Helsinki and recently opened offices in London and San Francisco, with further expansion planned across Europe, the United States and Asia.

The company employs around 250 people from more than 40 nationalities and says it has raised over $450 million in total funding. Verda was founded in Helsinki in 2020 and operates globally across Europe, the United States and Asia.

Its business is aimed at customers that need instant, on-demand compute at scale. Verda’s platform includes access to GPU instances, self-service GPU clusters, serverless containers and storage products, according to the company’s description of its AI cloud.

From compute capacity to platform services

Verda says the new financing will support product development across all layers of its cloud. The company specifically identifies compute capacity and inference as areas for investment, with the goal of serving frontier AI teams and multiplying capacity over the next year.

The company’s broader offering combines infrastructure with cloud software and AI research. That full-stack approach is central to Verda’s description of its business, which covers the physical data centers and hardware behind its services as well as the platform customers use to access compute.

Ruben Bryon’s European infrastructure argument

Ruben Bryon, Verda’s founder and CEO, presents the round as a bet on Europe’s ability to build a large technology company around AI infrastructure.

“AI is becoming critical infrastructure across industries, and the next few years are a pivotal window for Europe. Our north star is to build the first true tech company in Europe, with AI infrastructure as the starting foundation, and to bring down the carbon footprint of compute worldwide. We’re proud of our progress but are a long way from being done,” said Ruben Bryon, Verda’s founder and CEO.

Verda says its infrastructure is designed to provide compute that is instant, on-demand and available at scale. The company’s stated expansion plans cover Europe, the United States and Asia, following the opening of offices in London and San Francisco.

The immediate test is whether Verda can turn the financing into greater compute capacity quickly enough to meet demand. The company’s stated target is to multiply its compute capacity over the next year while continuing development of its full-stack AI cloud and inference services.
