Meta is putting a price on heavier use of its AI tools. The company announced Meta One on September 15, a subscription service that combines paid features across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI, with individual bundles starting at $7.99 per month.

Meta says the free versions of its apps and Meta AI will continue to provide the core experience. Paid plans target people who want more image and video generation, more use of creative tools such as Instagram’s Restyle, and additional customization features across Meta’s consumer apps.

The company’s announcement says Meta One is rolling out gradually with more than 50 features available at launch. Meta also says its subscription products have reached 15 million subscriptions and trials to date, though it does not break out how many users are paying for each plan.

Meta One turns separate subscriptions into bundles

Meta One builds on the individual Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus plans that Meta introduced earlier in 2026. Those products sell app-specific extras, including profile and Story customization, Messenger options, additional WhatsApp personalization and expanded ways to organize chats.

The new Core and Premium bundles combine those app features with greater access to some of Meta’s most compute-intensive AI capabilities. Core costs $7.99 per month and includes more Instagram Restyle uses, more voice effects and creative tools, and additional image and video generation through Meta AI.

Premium costs $19.99 per month and includes everything in Core, with a higher allowance for content creation through Meta AI and across Meta’s family of apps. Meta describes Premium as the plan for users who want the most room to create, but does not publish a fixed monthly quota for every AI feature.

AI usage becomes the main paid benefit

The bundle structure gives Meta a way to charge for compute-heavy features without removing its general-purpose assistant from the free tier. Meta AI remains available for everyday use, while the paid plans focus on higher-volume media generation and repeated use of creative functions inside Instagram and other apps.

Meta says early testing showed that more than half of subscribers to its bundled plans used both AI and expression features. The company identifies Instagram’s Restyle and voice effects as two of the leading reasons people subscribed.

That mix matters because Meta One is not positioned as a standalone chatbot subscription. The paid service attaches AI usage to the places where Meta already has a large user base, allowing subscribers to move between social tools, messaging features and media creation without signing up for separate products.

Creators and businesses get higher-priced tiers

Meta is also launching plans for creators and businesses. The Essential tier starts at $14.99 per month and includes an enhanced profile, a verified badge, impersonation protection and more access to Meta Business Agent on WhatsApp for customer responses.

Advanced starts at $49.99 per month and adds scheduled Stories, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights and tools that allow team members to manage an account without sharing its password. The plan also includes more Meta Business Agent responses and additional WhatsApp business features.

Meta lists Expert at $149 per month and Max at $499 per month for teams that need its highest levels of feature access and Business Agent capacity. Pricing and availability vary by region, app and account, and Meta says users must begin the subscription process to see the benefits available to them.

More services are planned for Meta One

The company says Meta One will expand beyond its initial set of Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI features. Meta plans to add Edits, its video creation app, and AI glasses over time.

Meta also says Edits Plus will bring additional cloud storage and more usage of an upcoming Edits assistant. The assistant is designed to analyze Instagram insights and help users brainstorm ideas, extending the subscription beyond content generation into planning and audience management.

Meta One is now available globally, although the rollout is gradual and the precise benefits depend on the user’s account and location. For consumers, the immediate choice is between a $7.99 Core plan, a $19.99 Premium plan, or the existing free experience; for businesses, the entry price is $14.99 per month.
