FPT and NAVER Cloud are pitching AI access without the cost of building infrastructure from scratch, but their agreement is a memorandum of understanding, not a detailed rollout plan. The companies say they will combine GPU cloud capacity, AI models and engineering support for enterprise customers across Asia-Pacific. Their announcement sets out areas of cooperation, but gives no launch dates, pricing, investment figures or capacity targets.
The companies announced the agreement on October 12, 2026. FPT says the partnership will expand its AI Factory business and market presence through joint technology development, AI services and commercialization. NAVER Cloud describes the effort as a joint push into AI Factory and GPU-as-a-service opportunities, with an initial regional focus that includes South Korea, Japan and Vietnam.
HyperCLOVA X meets FPT AI Factory
The proposed arrangement centers on FPT AI Factory, FPT’s platform for developing and deploying AI. The companies say they will work to offer NAVER Cloud’s hyperscale model, HyperCLOVA X, to FPT enterprise customers through that platform. That is a stated objective, rather than a confirmed launch or a description of which model services will be available first.
Yuwon Kim, CEO of NAVER Cloud, said: “Through this collaboration with FPT, NAVER Cloud can now combine the AI technologies and experience it has built up with FPT's AI Factory and enterprise business capabilities.” The tie-up also links the companies’ GPU infrastructure, cloud technology, customer networks and business operations, according to NAVER’s announcement.
Both companies frame the offer around customers that need computing resources for large-scale AI training and inference but do not want to build their own infrastructure. NAVER says the partners plan to identify regional demand together and offer infrastructure, models and AI services to enterprises and AI service providers. The announcements do not specify which customers or deployments will come first.
Engineering teams will work at customer sites
The agreement also calls for regular technical exchanges involving FPT engineers and teams from NAVER Cloud’s Vietnam Development Center and headquarters. The companies say joint teams will work directly with customers on GPU infrastructure optimization, inference performance and deploying AI agents in production. The focus on customer-side engineering gives the partnership a delivery component beyond selling access to cloud resources and models.
FPT describes its AI Factory as an all-in-one AI cloud platform powered by NVIDIA technologies. The company says it serves more than 18,000 AI developers and over 2,000 enterprises worldwide. FPT also says its AI Factories in Japan and Vietnam ranked 36th and 38th, respectively, among the world’s most powerful supercomputing systems; the announcement does not identify a ranking edition or publication date for those positions.
An MoU leaves commercial details open
FPT says the agreement supports its broader AI-first strategy and builds on its work in South Korea, where it lists Seoul, Daegu and Pangyo among its business hubs. NAVER, meanwhile, positions the partnership as a way to pursue AI Factory and GPUaaS business across the Asia-Pacific region, including markets where the companies intend to combine their infrastructure and customer reach.
For now, the announcements describe cooperation the companies intend to develop, not a completed service launch. They name HyperCLOVA X, GPU infrastructure and customer-facing engineering as components, while leaving commercial terms and implementation milestones unspecified. The next concrete step is the technical and business work the MoU assigns to the two companies.
