Anthropic launches Salesforce in Claude beta with 37 sales skills

Thirty-seven sales skills now sit inside Claude as Anthropic opens Salesforce in Claude in beta, giving sellers a way to research accounts, prepare for calls, review pipeline and propose CRM updates without switching between Salesforce and an AI assistant.

Anthropic released the plugin on September 15, 2026, as the first product from its expanded partnership with Salesforce. Salesforce builds the plugin’s sales skills, while Claude provides the conversational interface for working across account records, opportunities, pipeline information and connected workplace data.

The beta is available on paid Claude plans for organizations approved through Salesforce’s beta sign-up process. It works in Claude chat and Claude Cowork on the web and desktop, according to Anthropic’s product documentation.

Thirty-seven skills built for account executives

Salesforce in Claude packages 37 workflows for day-to-day sales work. They include account research, call preparation, pipeline reviews, renewal preparation, quarterly business review drafts and meeting follow-up. The plugin can combine Salesforce information with data from calendars, email and Slack when those services are connected.

A seller might ask Claude to prepare a renewal briefing, identify accounts that have not been touched in 30 days or compare pipeline coverage with a target. The system can also turn call notes or a transcript into a follow-up email and proposed updates to Salesforce.

Anthropic says the plugin handles administrative work while leaving the seller in control of changes to the CRM. Claude shows a proposed update before writing it, with options to allow the change once, always allow it or deny it.

Permissions stay tied to each Salesforce account

The integration does not create a separate data-access model for Claude. Claude signs in through each user’s own Salesforce account and sees only the records that the user’s existing Salesforce permissions allow.

That design matters because a sales organization’s CRM contains more than pipeline totals. Account histories, contacts, opportunity notes and internal activity can carry different access rules across teams. Anthropic’s setup guide says administrators connect Salesforce for the organization, after which each employee links an individual Salesforce account.

Organizations must have access to the latest Sales Cloud enterprise edition to qualify for the beta. Salesforce administrators request access through AgentExchange, then Claude administrators configure the Salesforce connector and choose how the plugin is distributed to groups inside the organization.

GitLab, Siemens and Legora are early users

Anthropic says GitLab, Siemens and Legora have deployed Salesforce in Claude, while 7,000 Salesforce sellers use it in their work. The company presents those deployments as evidence that sales teams are using Claude to turn live CRM data into meeting preparation and pipeline analysis rather than treating the model as a separate writing tool.

“With Salesforce in Claude, our sellers turn live data into meeting briefings in seconds instead of hours. As our sales team grows, every new rep starts with a full picture of the law firms we serve.”

David Eckstein, chief financial officer, Legora

Salesforce’s Alexa Vignone, president and chief revenue officer, said sellers could begin the day with pipeline reviews and account histories already assembled, leaving more time for customer conversations. Anthropic identifies Vignone’s title and company in the product announcement.

The beta is the first product in Claudeforce

Salesforce and Anthropic announced the Claudeforce partnership in August, describing a broader plan to connect Claude with Salesforce data, workflows, business rules and Slack. Salesforce in Claude is the first product from that partnership, focused initially on the sales and revenue function.

Salesforce’s announcement described the plugin as a way for sellers and agents to reason over live revenue context, automate pipeline updates and take governed action from Claude. The companies also said Claude would be available inside Salesforce products, including Agentforce, while Salesforce data and workflows would be accessible from Claude.

The arrangement gives Salesforce a route to put its CRM data behind a conversational interface while keeping its existing permissions and approval controls in place. Anthropic, meanwhile, gains a direct enterprise workflow for Claude in a system that sales teams already use to manage accounts and revenue.

Access depends on approval, not just a paid Claude plan

Anthropic’s phrase “available on all paid Claude plans” does not mean every paid subscriber can activate the plugin immediately. Salesforce must approve the organization through its beta process, and the administrator must complete the AgentExchange and connector setup before employees can use it.

The product also begins with a narrow focus: sales workflows. Additional skills are planned, but the September 15 launch centers on account research, call preparation, pipeline management and CRM updates. For now, the most concrete test will be whether sellers trust Claude’s summaries enough to use them before customer meetings—and whether the approval step keeps automated CRM changes from becoming an administrative problem of their own.
