Google is creating a Posts Discovery team to recommend short-form Posts across YouTube surfaces. The technical lead sets strategy for the team's large-scale recommendation models, covering retrieval, user-action prediction, user modelling and knowledge distillation, and manages project priorities while mentoring engineers. The posting asks for eight years in software development, three in technical leadership, and production experience with recommendation models. Preferred: a graduate degree, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or people management. Posts already reach more than 300 million daily users.
