Waymo's Vehicle Realism Platform team, part of its Simulator group, needs a staff tech lead to build and maintain the simulation systems used to test and train the Waymo Driver. The work covers long-term architecture, reproducibility and reliability of the simulator, and bridging vehicle subsystems with simulation infrastructure, alongside Simulator, Eval, Hardware and Onboard teams. The posting asks for strong C++, backend experience (workflows, databases, SQL, monitoring), and prior tech lead experience; robotics, perception, ML and distributed-systems backgrounds are preferred.
