Waymo's Hardware Engineering group seeks a staff systems engineer to set the architecture of its next-generation self-driving system. The work spans trade studies weighing performance, reliability and cost, defining system interfaces, aligning software, hardware, sensing, compute, safety and reliability teams, and turning architectural choices into subsystem requirements. The posting asks for an engineering bachelor's degree, five or more years in systems architecture or complex system design, and preferably functional safety (ISO 26262) and MBSE/SysML experience.
