Shield AI is hiring a staff software engineer for its Autonomous Pilot Integration team in Washington, D.C., on-site. The role writes autonomy software for unmanned platforms across air, maritime, space and expendable domains, covering mission behaviors, platform-specific control, multi-agent coordination and contingencies. Work spans software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, vehicle-in-the-loop and live test exercises, alongside perception and capability teams and outside platform integrators. The engineer also leads a small feature crew and mentors mid-level engineers.
