Anthropic is hiring a staff-or-above software engineer for its Auth & Identity team, which owns login, API keys, tokens and access decisions across the Claude API, Claude Code, Claude.ai and enterprise products. The engineer designs and runs high-traffic services: credential lifecycle, a unified authorization system, identity for service accounts and autonomous agents, multi-region failover, enterprise SSO and SCIM. The posting wants 8+ years on large-scale backend or platform systems and tools like OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM or Cedar/OPA. Agent identity is the distinctive part, much of it 0-to-1.
