Databricks is hiring a staff software engineer for the infrastructure behind its AI Research organization. The role builds services that schedule, orchestrate and monitor large-scale training and inference experiments across thousands of GPUs, plus dev tooling and CI for research code, so researchers can move from idea to experiment in minutes. It asks for 5+ years of software engineering, distributed systems experience, a systems language such as C++, Rust, Go or Scala, familiarity with cluster schedulers like Kubernetes, Slurm or Ray, and includes mentoring engineers across compute and AI systems.
