JetBrains is hiring a senior technical leader for CLion, its C++ IDE, to work on AI-powered development workflows. The role is hands-on rather than managerial: prototyping, implementing and validating AI-assisted debugging, code understanding, refactoring and navigation, designing architecture for agent tools and integrations, and building benchmarks for evaluating AI-assisted C++ development. Applicants should have significant staff-level engineering experience, JVM skills in Kotlin or Java, and knowledge of how coding agents work, including tool calling, context management and MCP. C++ and IDE internals experience is a plus.
