Databricks is hiring a Staff Backline Engineer to act as the senior escalation point for the hardest ML and AI problems customers hit on its platform. The work is hands-on debugging: reproducing training and inference failures, reading logs, traces, metrics and source code, and profiling GPU, memory and distributed execution issues. It asks for Python, Spark, MLflow, model serving and Kubernetes experience, plus framework knowledge such as PyTorch. The role sits between Support, Engineering and Product, and includes mentoring and building diagnostics and automation.
