Figure, an AI robotics company building general-purpose humanoid robots, is hiring a Staff AI Inference & Acceleration Engineer for its Platform Software team in San Jose. The role owns the robots' on-board inference architecture: mapping models to NPU, GPU, DSP and CPU, partitioning workloads across heterogeneous compute, setting a system-level compute budget, and applying quantization, pruning and operator fusion to cut latency, memory and power. It asks for a master's or PhD or equivalent experience, eight or more years in ML systems or hardware acceleration, deep C++ and Python, and profiling and toolchain work across edge accelerators.
