Waymo's Perception team is hiring a senior staff technical lead to set the long-term roadmap for multi-modal perception architectures: multi-task learning, spatial-temporal modeling and scene representation. The role covers unified sensor representations, work with the Planner, hardware and infrastructure teams, and mentoring ML engineers. The posting asks for a BS or MS, eight or more years in ML, AI or computer vision, production-scale model experience, Python, C++ and frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX or TensorFlow, and cross-functional tech leadership. A PhD and 3D perception or end-to-end driving experience are preferred.
