Waymo is hiring a Sr. Staff Data Architect to own the global architecture roadmap for its multi-petabyte data lake, moving ad-hoc processing to production-grade Lakehouse and Medallion standards. The role chairs data design review forums, sets governance rules covering privacy, access control and pipeline compliance, and builds self-service managed pipeline frameworks for data engineers and product data scientists. It asks for 12+ years on petabyte-scale data lake and warehouse systems, expert depth in Spark, Flink or Flume, and influence across hundreds of stakeholders. Preferred: CI/CD and Google-internal pipeline stacks.
