OpenAI's Consumer Devices group is hiring a Software Security Architect for its Operating Systems team in San Francisco, on-site. The role sets the security architecture for a new operating system: trust boundaries, privilege model, secure boot, code signing, attestation, kernel and app isolation, and guardrails governing how AI agents reach data, sensors and tools. It asks for deep operating-system or hypervisor security experience, systems coding in C, C++, or Rust, threat modelling, and hardware-backed protections. Senior, hands-on, cross-functional with silicon, firmware and privacy teams.
