OpenAI is hiring a software engineer for the Scaled Abuse team in its Fraud Engineering group, on-site in San Francisco. The person designs and builds backend and data systems for real-time fraud detection, investigation workflows and enforcement, and partners with finance, security, product, research and trust and safety as attack patterns emerge. The posting asks for at least five years in backend and data systems and two in fraud or abuse work; machine learning experience is a plus, and the team uses GPT-5 in its defenses.
