Anthropic's Claude Developer Platform team is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer as the senior-most individual contributor across API Engineering. The role sets multi-year technical strategy for the Claude API and leads the hardest cross-team initiatives, working with Research, Inference, Platform, Infrastructure and Safeguards across API Core, Capabilities, Knowledge, Distributability and Agents. The posting asks for 12+ years of engineering experience, prior Staff-level work, deep distributed-systems and API design expertise, and coding in critical paths.
