Waymo's Onboard Infrastructure division needs a senior engineer for its System Software Team, which maintains the primary compute node of the on-vehicle platform. The job is Linux kernel driver work: writing drivers and user-space APIs for custom ASICs, FPGAs and accelerators, testing them, and moving components from prototype to production in driverless vehicles. Requirements include a CS degree, C/C++ fluency, five years with asynchronous, interrupt-driven programming, kernel and driver experience, and hardware bring-up skills such as reading schematics. Hybrid; reports to a Technical Lead Manager.
