Google DeepMind is hiring a mid-level research scientist for Gemini Horizon, on-site in Mountain View. The work is improving Gemini with new reinforcement learning environments, evaluations and RL recipe changes: building evaluations for domains where Gemini should be superhuman, inventing hard, verifiable problems, training Gemini on them and landing what transfers into production. Requirements: a PhD or equivalent experience, plus a year with generative AI, LLMs, NLP or agent systems, and a year of LLM post-training or alignment. Posted US pay: $147,000–$210,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits.
