Anthropic's Pre-training team is hiring a research engineer or research scientist to help develop the next generation of large language models. The work spans model architecture, algorithms, data processing and optimizer development, running and analysing experiments, scaling training infrastructure to thousands of GPUs, and building internal tooling. The posting asks for a master's or PhD in computer science or machine learning, strong software engineering, Python and PyTorch, and familiarity with large-scale language-model training.
