Anthropic's ML Performance and Scaling team is hiring a research engineer to keep its production pretrained models training reliably at scale. The work spans performance optimization, hardware and networking debugging, experiment design, observability, evaluation infrastructure and launch coordination, with on-call incident response during launches. Candidates should have hands-on large language model training experience or deep JAX, TPU, PyTorch or distributed-systems expertise, and be comfortable with an even split between research and engineering. The role is in-office five days a week in London.
