Anthropic's Code RL team is hiring a research engineer to extend Claude's ability to design silicon. The work covers building reinforcement-learning environments and evaluations for agentic RTL generation, formal verification and physical-design optimization, plus cross-cutting problems such as EDA-tool latency and proxy rewards. Candidates need ASIC or FPGA experience — RTL, verification, physical design, PPA, DFT, tapeouts — and fluency with EDA tools. Listed in San Francisco or New York, with office time required.
