The role owns manufacturing and quality readiness for OpenAI’s AI supercomputer hardware, from concept through launch and mass production. The engineer will build qualification and process-control plans, track supplier and line metrics, lead failure analysis and corrective actions, audit JDM/CM partners, and give evidence-based release recommendations. It requires experience across complex hardware, high-performance computing integration, and multinational manufacturing partners, with familiarity in DFQ/DFX/DFM/DFA/DFT/DFR and structured problem-solving. The position is hybrid in San Francisco and includes relocation assistance.
