OpenAI's People Analytics team seeks a People Research Data Scientist for AI fairness and bias testing. The role defines fairness and bias-testing strategies for AI-assisted People systems — hiring, performance, promotion, development, workforce planning. Work includes algorithmic audits, adverse-impact and intersectional analysis, calibration, measurement invariance, counterfactual and behavioral testing of generative and agentic AI, plus scalable evaluation infrastructure. Candidates need deep fairness or psychometrics expertise, research design and causal inference strength, and Python or R with SQL. Mid-level, full-time, hybrid, San Francisco preferred.
