Perplexity's Data Platform team owns the full data lifecycle — ingestion, processing, storage and serving — that feeds product features, analytics, experimentation and AI training and evaluation. This senior or staff engineer designs and operates large-scale batch and streaming pipelines, sets orchestration and observability standards, and builds self-serve tooling so other teams can define data contracts and run their own pipelines. The posting wants five or more years (eight for staff), production data infrastructure experience, Python plus a second backend language, and prior ownership of internal platforms.
