xAI's RL infrastructure team is hiring an engineer to develop the framework behind its reinforcement learning training. The work covers designing and implementing systems for all RL workloads, from small ablations to production runs, plus profiling and optimizing end-to-end training performance and improving scalability and observability. The posting asks for experience building and debugging large-scale distributed systems, comfort working across the stack, and proficiency in Python, Jax, Rust or C++.
