Cohere's integration team builds and scales the machine-learning code that post-trains large language models, with an emphasis on distributed reinforcement learning. This research-engineering role involves writing scalable training software, building tools that speed up research, and improving SFT, offline-preference and RL pipelines, in coordination with infrastructure, efficiency, serving and science teams. The posting asks for strong software engineering, Python with JAX, PyTorch or XLA/MLIR, and experience debugging large-scale distributed training. Bonus: Kubernetes, Ray, post-training experience.
