A hardware architect role on Google's Co-design team, working on TPU silicon for AI/ML training and serving. The job is to set the architectural roadmap for the hardware/software stack, build simulation and performance models, decide power, performance, area and buildability trade-offs, and analyse compute, memory bandwidth and inter-chip networking across distributed ML systems. It also acts as liaison between research, compiler and hardware groups. Google asks for a bachelor's degree plus 12 years in computer architecture, chip architecture or hardware-software co-design, and C++ or Python experience for performance modelling. Preferred: a master's or PhD and deep learning framework familiarity.
