xAI's High Power Engineering team is hiring a lead electrical engineer in Memphis to build and run the power infrastructure behind its AI training campuses. The work spans high-voltage switchyards, transformers and medium-voltage buses, utility and balancing-authority interconnection, protection settings, power system studies, compliance, and the campus electrical safety program, plus supervising T&D engineers as those seats fill. It asks for an engineering degree, 10+ years in transmission, substation or generation interconnection, and preferably PE licensure and 161–345 kV experience. The role is on-site, with 24/7 on-call duty.
