OpenAI's Hardware organization is hiring a Host Systems Software Engineer in San Francisco, hybrid, to build the host software stack for its custom AI silicon and supercomputing platform. The work covers Linux kernel drivers, RDMA and high-throughput networking, PCIe, DMA, NICs and accelerators, plus platform bring-up, diagnostics and performance tooling. The posting wants strong C or C++ with Python and Linux tooling, kernel or I/O experience, and comfort owning projects from design to validation. Rust familiarity is preferred; export-control legal status requirements may apply.
