xAI is hiring electrical engineers for on-site power generation at its Memphis-area AI supercomputing facilities. The job owns plant electrical systems for gas turbine generation: generators, excitation, synchronization, 34.5 kV collect and export, protection and control, e-houses, blackstart and switching. Duties include single-line diagrams, relay settings, power system studies in ETAP or PSS/E, NERC and ERCOT compliance, equipment specification, commissioning and failure analysis. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics or electrical engineering technology is required; experience with turbines and data center power is preferred. Travel up to 50%.
