Shield AI is hiring a Deputy Chief Engineer for its X-BAT air vehicle, onsite in Seattle. Reporting to the Air Vehicle Lead, the deputy works across design, development, integration, test and maturation. Duties include maintaining the aircraft's technical baseline, leading multidisciplinary integration across structures, aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, flight controls, software and autonomy, running technical reviews and risk processes. The posting requires an engineering bachelor's degree, 12+ years in complex aircraft development, technical leadership experience, and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance. Preferred: clean-sheet military aircraft, autonomy integration and flight test.
