OpenAI's Codex team, which builds agentic software-engineering tools, is hiring a data scientist in San Francisco. The role measures and accelerates product-market fit: designing A/B tests and staged rollouts of new coding models and features, defining metrics like suggestion acceptance, edit distance, test pass rates and latency, building dashboards and diagnosing failures. It asks for five-plus years in a quantitative product role, SQL, Python and experiment design, plus a programming background; LLM evaluation experience is a plus. Hybrid, three days in office, with relocation assistance.
