OpenAI's Hardware organization seeks a 3P Systems Architect to define rack- and cluster-level reference designs with external partners. The person translates AI workload requirements into system specifications, works with performance modeling teams on tradeoffs, aligns internal and vendor stakeholders, drives ODM/JDM, silicon, and networking vendors, and leads proof-of-concept validation. It asks for large-scale infrastructure or data center system architecture experience, AI workload mapping, vendor management, and cross-functional alignment.
