Waymo's summer 2027 software engineering internship sits on the software non-determinism diagnostics team, which builds tooling to trace and diagnose non-deterministic execution across the autonomous driving stack. Interns design infrastructure and tooling and investigate non-deterministic execution patterns in Waymo codebases. Candidates must be pursuing a Master's or PhD with strong C++ and a foundation in algorithms, data structures and systems debugging; statistical analysis, anomaly detection, tracing tools and graph execution frameworks are preferred. Pay is $70/hour for Master's students and $85/hour for PhD students.
