A summer 2027 internship on Waymo's Road Understanding team in Mountain View, working on machine learning for lane geometry detection and road topology, including merges and splits. The intern writes model code, builds data and training pipelines across sensor modalities and map priors, creates metrics for topological correctness at intersections, and works with research mentors. MS or PhD students in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering or machine learning should have strong Python and deep learning framework experience; publications and HD map or lane topology work are preferred.
