Waymo is hiring MS and PhD students for a 2027 summer machine learning engineering internship in San Francisco. The intern will fine-tune a large multi-task transformer in JAX/Flax on TPUs, design offline and end-to-end evaluations covering PR-AUC and calibration, and land production code in a shared codebase. Applicants should be returning to a CS or ML graduate program, have hands-on deep learning training experience in JAX, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and strong C++ or Python. Preferred: top-tier AI publications and autonomous driving, robotics or simulation exposure.
