The AI Collective brings its global hackathon initiative to Hartford for a six-hour, in-person AI "vibe coding" day at the UConn School of Business, following its Humans in AI Week. Multidisciplinary teams form around five Connecticut civic challenges, including mapping where social services are needed, moving food to the places it is needed most, and making CTData.org searchable through conversational interfaces. Coding experience is not required. Registration runs through September 18, with team assignments and office hours later in the month. Mentors and volunteers are also wanted; guest judges come from the state senate, CTData.org and Google. Pitches start at 5 PM and are open to all, with awards at 7:30 PM.
