Visier was founded in 2010 in Vancouver, Canada, by Ryan Wong along with John Schwarz and other members of the Schwarz family, several of whom had previously built the Business Objects analytics business. The company set out to give HR and business leaders a data-warehouse-style view of their workforce, pulling employee records, compensation, performance, and recruiting data into one analytical model instead of leaving it scattered across HRIS, payroll, and ATS systems. Visier's platform now spans people analytics, workforce planning, and compensation benchmarking, anchored by a proprietary dataset built from anonymized records across its customer base. In 2024 it launched Vee, a generative AI assistant that lets managers ask plain-language workforce questions and get answers inside Visier, Microsoft Copilot, Slack, or Excel rather than building a report first. The company has raised more than $300 million, including a $125 million Series E led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management at a valuation above $1 billion, and counts a large share of the Fortune 500 among its customers.
