New York and Oslo-based finance-automation company whose AI platform autonomously codes and processes accounts payable invoices.

Vic.ai was founded in 2016 by Kristoffer Roil, Alexander Hagerup and Rune Loyning, with Hagerup drawing on a finance and accounting background from his time on the board of 24SevenOffice, a Nordic cloud ERP provider. The company set out to build what it calls an autonomous finance platform, starting with invoice capture and coding and expanding from there into purchase-order matching, approvals, bill pay and vendor management. Vic.ai has raised about $115 million total, including a $52 million Series C in December 2022 led by existing investors ICONIQ Growth and GGV Capital with continued participation from Cowboy Ventures and Costanoa Ventures. The company is jointly headquartered in New York City and Oslo and says its platform has processed more than half a billion invoices at up to 99% accuracy for more than 10,000 customers, integrating with ERPs including NetSuite, SAP S/4HANA, Sage Intacct, Workday and Microsoft Dynamics.
