Uniphore

Chennai-born, Palo Alto-based enterprise AI company selling a Business AI Cloud for contact centers — conversational intelligence, agent assist and voice automation.

Uniphore

Uniphore was founded in 2008 by Umesh Sachdev and Ravi Saraogi while both were still students, incubated out of IIT Madras, with an early focus on voice technology for customers who couldn't easily use text interfaces. What started as a conversational-service company for Indian telecom and banking clients grew into an enterprise AI platform serving thousands of large organizations worldwide. The company has raised close to a billion dollars in total funding, with a 2025 round backed in part by Nvidia, AMD, Snowflake and Databricks pushing its valuation to roughly $2.5 billion. Uniphore now runs dual headquarters in Palo Alto and Chennai, and its Business AI Cloud combines conversational analytics, real-time agent guidance, and voice-based customer self-service under a single platform aimed at contact centers, sales teams and back-office operations. Its acquisitions of emotion-recognition and automation companies over the past several years have folded into what Uniphore now markets as Emotion AI, Generative AI and Knowledge AI working together, deployed across more than 2,000 enterprise customers including several Fortune 500 names in banking, insurance and telecom.
