True Fit
Boston-based fit and sizing intelligence platform that uses purchase and return data to give apparel and footwear shoppers AI-driven size recommendations.

True Fit was founded in Boston in 2009 by William Adler and Jessica Murphy on a data problem specific to apparel: sizes aren't standardized across brands, and a shopper's true fit depends on the interaction between their body, a specific garment's construction, and how that brand's sizing runs, not any one of those alone. The company built a fit-recommendation platform that draws on a large pool of anonymized purchase and return outcomes across brands and shopper profiles to predict whether a specific size in a specific product will actually fit a specific shopper, rather than relying only on a size chart or generic body measurements. Retailers including House of Fraser and Kate Spade have reported measurable reductions in returns and increases in conversion after integrating True Fit's size guidance into their product pages, and the platform now covers tens of thousands of brands. True Fit raised a Series C round of roughly $55 million in 2018 led by Georgian, bringing total funding above $150 million, and has continued adding features like conversational fit guidance that lets shoppers ask specific questions about how a garment will feel or fit.
