Swapcard

Event management platform for conferences and trade shows that uses AI matchmaking to connect attendees, exhibitors, and sessions.

Swapcard

Swapcard was founded in Paris in 2013 by three friends, Baptiste Boulard, Damien Courbon, and Godefroy des Francs, who set out to fix a problem anyone who has attended a large conference recognizes: finding the right people to talk to across a room of hundreds or thousands of strangers. Boulard serves as CEO, Courbon as COO, and des Francs as Chief Product Officer, and the company has grown to more than 180 employees across offices in Paris, Seattle, Montreal, London, Dubai, New Delhi, and Singapore. The platform combines event registration, a mobile and web app, exhibitor lead capture, and analytics with AI-driven matchmaking that recommends people, sessions, and exhibitors to attendees based on their stated interests and in-app behavior. In 2022 the company formalized this work under an internal group called Swapcard Lab, dedicated specifically to AI research for large-scale events, and it now positions the product as a revenue-first platform aimed at helping organizers monetize sponsorships and lead generation alongside attendee experience. Swapcard's most recently disclosed funding is a Series A round of roughly $4.7 million from 2018, and the platform is used by organizers including SXSW-scale conferences, trade associations, and corporate event teams.
